One of the most unfortunate fates was for this song to reach number one and stay there for months on end... People began to hate it through over exposure.... I ADORE THIS SONG because of its emotional healing value, its a truly beautiful pure song of the Scottish land.... The verses melody is emotional....and very sophisticated too.... It reveals in our own self the depth of love that the writer had for this place the MULL OF KINTYRE....just singing the verse accurately is an emotional healing in itself, and I would put this song as one of my all time favourite songs....regardless of the overexposure to poor old McCartney. This song more than many other greats he wrote, such as Let It Be is a mark of the writers genius. It is holy in its formation and wholly deserves the full support of the pipe band that plays in the record. Well done the writer....some scouse bloke. I wager that God agrees with me.
