One of the problems we face in the Western Church is our worldview is more Greek than Hebrew. We often view life as two separate spheres: the spiritual and the secular. The Jews viewed all of life as holy and did not sharply distinguish between the secular and the spiritual. They saw their present life as holy and to be lived for God with all the blessings of this life and the hope of the resurrection. What you do in life is valuable and worthwhile. You may expect God to bless whatever you put your hand to. All of the Old Covenant earthly blessings are yours in Christ. All the promises (Old Testament promises) are Yes and Amen in Christ. There is a promise from God for any and all areas of life and its challenges. God has already said Yes to your need; He meets our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ.
