One of the things I enjoy most about collecting old engineering - TopicsExpress

One of the things I enjoy most about collecting old engineering books is finding out about the people who wrote and owned them. My latest is ELECTRONICS FOR INDUSTRY by Waldemar I. Bendz. Its a 1947 first edition inscribed to John F Rockett. I found this obit from a google search - John F. Rockett was a scientist and inventor. He attended Tufts University and started his own new products venture, Product Development Corporation in Boston, 1954. Named one of the outstanding young men of greater Boston in 1955, Mr. Rockett made contributions to the fields of agriculture, medical monitoring, and bar code scanning. After suffering a cerebral hemorrhage in 1976, Mr. Rockett spent his later years convalescing in the care of his beloved wife Anne and thinking about new ideas and ways to change the world.
