One of those wouldnt believe it but saw it with my own eyes stories...A couple of months back a friend of mine was in need of some help from Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. I went with her and sat as the woman in the office took all of her details and took her photo to issue her with a card....She needed some assistance again today....and I went to help her carry the stuff back...when we got there she handed over the card that she was issued with her photo on it and the photo was clearly taken in their office....funny thing is they claim that they never took her photo...despite the fact that it clearly shows their office in the background...and the card she had was a Vancouver Parks Board Card....yes that is odd I even questioned that myself,but she just took what they gave her and thought nothing more of it until she tried to get help again today....They claim they had none of her details and would not issue a Vancouver Parks Board Card...in fact they put the onus on her to explain why they would issue a VPB Card....honestly how would she know why they did what they did...and if they had no details on her why was she in their system....why did they previously help her and then claim to have no details...If she provided no details how is it that she is in their system? How can anyone explain a photo clearly taken in their office being on a VPB Card? Needless to say their concern was not her hunger,but rather how to avoid helping her.....Has GVFS given in to the whole purposeful disruption of services to the low income earners in the DTES as part of the ongoing gentrification program or does GVFS just hire dufuses that cant keep their records straight?....a question all donors to this organization should take note of....either way....she goes hungry....Thanks to GVFS
