One reason I love touring: It pulls me out of my comfort zone and reminds me that the world is full of generous, helpful, caring people. In a sedentary state, I find it too easy to get lost in corporate drudgery and mundane irritation, to withdraw from society until other humans seem alien and frightening. When Im not traveling around, stimulating my endorphins with novel experiences, my gratitude fades. But every day in Seattle, I see people improving situations for their fellow humans. Whether theyre helping to advocate for universal healthcare, fighting for equal rights, working on raising wages, fostering an inclusive creative community, or just making sure the household cats are being properly taken care of, people all around me are acting awesomely pretty much constantly. And I dont always appreciate it nearly enough. Thank you, everyone, for keeping entropy at bay for another day!
