One year ago today, Samantha Brooke Messmer and I drove to Tennessee to pick up our adopted pup. We were about an hour from his Foster moms house and stopped to eat at a Ruby Tuesday. I called her and told her wed stopped to eat and were an hour out. She told me shed bathed Scout and weighed him and Hes all ready to meet you!. She proceeded to tell me hed weighed in at 42 pounds...Eh, what? Oh mercy! Thats the size of a 2nd grader! Guess were getting a doozy! A doozy is what we got! Hes been the very best pal, companion, running/walking/ball-fetching/bone-chewing/peanut butter-eating/lap-sitting pooch Ive ever had! So incredibly blessed by his unconditional love. Sometimes, I think Hes taught me more than I have taught him. His birth name quickly changed to Big Blue in honor of the Kentucky Wildcats with the help of my brain. The First photo was after we brought him home, second was just yesterday after our run. Hes saved me and forced me to be a better, healthier me. In honor of my hashtag fail yesterday, Ill ho it again.... #whorescuedwho. Who rescued who! Haha....
