One year ago yesterday. November 5th our whole family arrived in Florida thinking it was going to be a tropical paradise. I would say nothing was like we thought Turned out when I got here I didnt have the job I was told would transfer. Spent every dime on a blood soaked roach infested motel, trying to find a job in a panic . We scrapped for food and David and the kids and I walked over a mile to the food bank only to carry what we could back in the stroller and then could only eat was was cook-able in the microwave. I applied for job after job and no luck. We had to call churches and ask for help for one day a week anything. Living with the stress of not knowing if we will have shelter with the children the next day? Finally after Christmas we ran out of resources and in January had to go to separate shelters. In a year I lost my husband, homeless, no food, no job, desperate... But kept moving forward. Found work, bought a car, with insurance, found stable work with benefits, and am living in a house where we each have our own room !. Today I am grateful, thank you everyone that helped in the journey, Terry Quinlivan you are the most amazing and loving person I have ever met in my life. I hope someday to be more like you.
