One year ago yesterday, we lost a very close friend and fan, Pam - TopicsExpress

One year ago yesterday, we lost a very close friend and fan, Pam Riemcke Finn Elder, to cancer. We played at a benefit for Pam in June 2013. Pam LOVED music and She LOVED to dance. Our lead singer Kaden Karns and his family were especially close to Pam. Yesterday Kaden visited Cedar Valley Hospice Home to spend time in the room where Pam spent 2 weeks just over a year ago. It was her time and care at Hospice Home that helped make her strong enough to return to her home in Oelwein for her final 2.5 weeks. When she was here in Waterloo at Hospice, Kaden road his bike to see her everyday after school. He read to her, helped her with her oxygen (that she liked to remove! lol), and made her laugh. He played guitar for her and sang to her at Hospice, at her home and as well as at her funeral. Kaden has decided to kick off a personal fundraising campaign to memorialize Pam, while at the same time donating money to Hospice. He hopes to raise at least the $1,000 necessary to buy a memorial brick in the beautiful courtyard garden at Hospice Home with Pams name on it. He also wants to add her motto, Turn Up the Music and Dance He got the information on how to donate in someones memory from Hospice yesterday and told the staff hed be back with lots of money in a month! More details on how he is planning to raise the money will be released in the next few days. Kadens effort for Pams Memorial at Hospice will culminate with him doing something very big and unexpected, so stay tuned for a somewhat shocking announcement this Monday!
