Only 4 spots remain for the Frank Covino Classic Academic Painting Workshop held at my home studio for the week of February 23-27th in Littleton Colorado. Class is $695 and first time students get a $100 discount, and any paid student referring another student can earn $100 discount for each referral. Only 12 students per class. This class is for ALL artists from beginner/novice to Professional/Master level, and I personally have been studying with Frank for over a decade along with many other successful professional artists. Attached is an example of a landscape I painted in the style and manner of famous landscape painter Albert Bierstadt. This piece started with a charcoal drawing over a yellow tinted gesso background so that the piece has a unifying warm sunlight that shows throughout the painting. It then goes to the underpainting stage called Azuraccio which is a bluish underpainting, instead of a greenish Verdaccio underpainting used on portraits/figures. This piece was a study in depth, to push the background elements as far as possible, and to paint how we as humans see landscape, NOT how todays modern cameras can capture every detail, we artists are here to interpret, and NOT to MERELY REPRODUCE what a camera sees...(a camera already does that well...so what is the point...?)
