Only in America... Only in America does this sort of nonsense happen, and we are all victimized, not only by the scams, but by the wasting of ones good time. What am I talking about? Well, my business phone rang today, and I answered with my usual hello greeting. The voice on the other end said it wanted to speak to the business owner. I said "I am the business owner, please state your business." Next was recorded spiel about business loans, which I do not need. Only then did I realize that the whole damned thing was pre-recorded and voice-activated, and I hung up the phone. Sadly, there is no recourse without the forensic ability to trace the phone call, and, even then, if the call is from offshore, there is no way to stop the bastards from doing this again and again. Anybody got any ideas about what to do about these time-wasting scourges that often turn out to be scams. Other than hanging up the phone?
