Ooh I almost forgot. I recently had a foray into sweet food. Try this for size... Take three bananas, cut them diagonally, 4mm widths. Fry in neutral oil (not olive) until semi-golden; and regulate heat until fairly soggy (YMMV). Gas off. Stir in maple syrup. Extract from pan to plate and put in fridge until well-chilled. Remove from fridge, cover with thinly-sliced fresh mint, dust with icing sugar, and, serve on fresh toast. "Panfried Bananas in Maple Syrup with Mint and a Touch of Snow". A winner with the kidz (and wife). Many of you will know the complexity of savoury food that I reach. This is the level of complexity is where I have got with the sweet stuff.
