“Oooh, ANOTHER FOUL PLAY”!!! When shall “WE” Do Things and Get Things RIGHT in our Community? Imagine a COMMON CGC Election got ABORTED right in our presence! Shame! Shame!! Sha-a-a-me!!! But who is/are to BLAME? Last Saturday, 8/3/2014, the Gov. Rochas Okorocha Administration arranged for a Community Govt. Council (CGC) Election by Option A4 in all the Autonomous Communities in the State, to elect Secretaries cum-PGs, Woman and Youth Leaders. The Information I gathered was that the Election was originally SLATED to hold at Nekede Town School (St. Theresa’s), but later “MANIPULATED” to hold at Umualum Primary School. On the Election Day proper, both the Contestants and the Voters were massively on ground to exercise this Little Franchise. But alas, the Voting Process was CANCELLED by the Election/Returning Officers on the grounds of “INADEQUATE SECURITY”, even when Security Police Officers were on ground. Why could the Election not hold in our Community when, simultaneously, it took place in other Communities, Umudibia and Umuoma inclusive? Who are the “MASTERMINDS” and what are their “SELFISH INTERESTS”? Now that the former “IMPOSED CGC OFFICERS” were DISSOLVED prior to the Election, who will oversee our Community CGC Affairs? Before Lawlessness, Youth Restiveness/Cultism, In-Fighting, Arson, Cultural Neglect/Desecration, etc, engulf our Community soonest, I demand as a matter of URGENT NEED/IMPORTANCE, the convocation of a Community Conference/ Meeting/Discussion/Dialogue, to chart a way forward for our Town. Our Diaspora Brothers/Sisters, the people at Home have FAILED superlatively. I therefore, beckon on you to change the Tide, otherwise, you cannot see a Town/Home to return to.
