Open groupOpen group Pyrrhus Benevolent Society, Inc. was founded in New York, N.Y. on July 20, 1916 with its seat in the City of New York, N.Y. It was reorganized for the first time in October 1934 as Pyrrhus Benevolent Society, Inc., and later as an American organization of Hellenes (Greeks) of Northern Epirotic origin and their descendants. Its constitution (charter), has since then been amended. On February 7th, 2002 Pyrrhus Benev. Soc, Inc. (a male members only society) added amendment Article # 3B recognizing the Daughters of Epirus as its ladies Auxiliary where as from here on the ladies are automatically also members of Pyrrhus with the right to vote and be voted. On June 10th 2012 elections were held for the executive Board of the Pyrrhus Benevolent Society Inc. Stavros Zhongas was unanimously re-elected.
