Opening of the Exhibition “Prague 1968” Paul Goldsmith’s dramatic photographs of the invasion of Czechoslovakia by Soviet armed forces in April 1968 “Prague 1968” will be on display at the Front Gallery of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles starting August 21, 2013. The Opening of this distinctive exhibition of photos captured by a then 19-years-old Paul Goldsmith is organized on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia and will take place on August 21 from 6:00 p.m. The author of the rare photographs will be present among the attendees to discuss his work. Opening of the exhibition will be followed by a screening of a film about Soviet invasion “The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988, Philip Kaufman).” The film is based on Milan Kundera’s novel of the same name.
