John Hawkes and Mos Def star as low-level criminals who kidnap a corrupt Detroit real estate developers wife for ransom (the couple is played by Tim Robbins and Jennifer Aniston). Ironically Robbins has a mistress on the side (Isla Fisher) and doesnt really want his wife back anyway. While Aniston attempts to improve her position, two very different kinds of sleazeballs up the ante in an escalating sequence of double-crosses and plot twists, all set in 1970s Detroit to a great soundtrack of Top 40 hits and lounge tracks of the time. Based on the 1978 novel The Switch by the Dickens of Detroit Elmore Leonard, Director Daniel Schechters comedy brilliantly captures the spirit of 70s caper cinema. A cool piece of trivia...this film made its US Premiere at the Traverse City Film Festival this summer to rave reviews! Showing daily September 12-18 at 2pm, 5pm & 8pm. Rated R.
