Organic farming without fortifying or augmenting Animal husbandry and veterinary is like man planning to scale mt.everest without mountain gears. But its very much possible with Chamlings way of organic farming(like 14-16 trucks of vegetables automatically converts into organic,the moment it crosses Rangpo n Melli check post from Siliguri. Sikkims Vet system which is suppose to be the backbone of organic farming is at the Catastrophic end. Out of 31 constituencies only 6 constituencies have Veterinary doctors. In Rest of the 25 constituencies veterinary problem is handled by Dr.pawan Kr.Chamling himself. No veterinary dispensaries or hospitals in rural area are supplied with medicines.... Our prime minister to strengthen n revive the Indian local breed of cows have sanctioned 500 crores....whereas under Dr.Chamling tenure the livestocks have dwindled. Sikkim needs to recruit atleast 25 veterinary officers(at field level) at the earliest to revive our Vet farms....n support the farmers with medicine for their cattle.
