Orio International Italy. 2 hours delay on the flight. Stanstead awaits but waits at 1.30am...getting home will be a bugger. Airports are funny places at the best of times. A world on there own kinda like middle earth - Ryanair would be Sauron - and everyone is wearing the ring because time seems to stop and we all disappear into a mist of shadows...oh no, theres the bar, were alright. At the worst of times airports are a black hole. Life comes and life goes, but you, we, Im standing still, sucked into the lubricant vortex of another bottle of Peroni...apologies Nastro Azzurro, were in Italy dont you know : * so beware those who hate me going on. Those of you who even find me going on amusing may nod off. Then again I may too. Families, teenagers heading to London, maybe for the first time, boys on tour and you pretty girl sitting on my right, go on, look over to see Ive just written about you...no, bollox - all here in the eye of the storm. I half expect us all to be trapped here in departures for the next 8/9 seasons of Lost II - I wonder who Id be??? Whod survive and who would i kill first, I mean save, villain, hero, plane is still a no show. So go on now go, I could go on but in truth Im just being selfish as youre keeping me company as I await the final battle upon the gates of Mordor as I hack down the two annoying guys who think putting their cases in the queue constitutes them being in the queue, the final battle through gate 3, departure.... Shit...its to get on a shuttle bus... Follow me fellowship...see you on the shores of home. x
