Osun People Will Choose Who To Lead Them ... It is a delight to read positive contributions from all concerned individuals here, and I can only say the signs are there for a hope for a better tomorrow for our State, Osun State, and for the nation in general. While it is only expected in true democracy for elections to be fiercely contested, as the essence is for the best to emerge, respecting peoples power, the votes, it must shun all leaning towards violence or smart practices. Contesting elections fairly will serve the good interest of both the contestants and those voting for them. As for the contestants, if you win fairly, serve the people loyally, the rewards will come after leaving office. If not, the nemesis will be at the gate, with natural justice, to reward negatively for taking the people for a ride and stealing what belongs to all. A journey down memory lane will juggle our memories as of those who thought the people were fools, only to come and pay dearly for their sins. The reason for that we all know. It is a mistake of a life time to cheat the downtrodden and the defenceless! We were all witnesses to some who lost children they pampered at the expense of the State, and children of some are languishing in foreign jails, or fighting drug addiction. Whatever goes round, comes round. My humble advice to those in office or aspiring to take up leadership positions, today you know, tomorrow is pregnant, and its a mirage. The activities of today will call for tomorrows accountability. Whether Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola or Senator Iyiola Omisore, do not take Osun people for a ride. A careful study of the geographical plane of Osun will reveal strange hills, mountains, waterfalls and flowing or stagnant rivers! They are not there by accidents. These will, before God speaks judgement, call you all to account. There are more churches and mosques in Osun State than any other Yoruba speaking State of Nigeria. Can you see why this state is unique? Take heed, for there will always be a day of reckoning. As for the voters, resist temporary succour, for it can only guarantee a lasting future pain and regret. Be it rice, vegetable oil or wads of cash, they all have expiring date! Better to say no now to all attempts to sway our conscience the wrong way, so the future is not mortgaged and regrets the result. As you go to the polls, take your conscience with you. When they come calling with their Greek gifts, do not stretch your hands to receive them, but ask questions why? Those gifts cannot end your poverty, but can only increase it. The only lasting solution to poverty eradication is about choosing the right leaders with a heart to serve the people, not those declaring election contests as do or die battles. If Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has performed creditably well and deserves a second term, vote him in. If not, and you feel its worth gambling a replacement, by bringing in Senator Iyiola Omisore, vote Ogbeni out and vote Senator in! The good thing is both have platforms to judge them on. Ogbeni has been in office as Governor, and Senator Iyiola Omisore has represented a Senatorial District. Check their track records and judge them accordingly. Goodluck to both, we will all be here to ask you how have you performed?
