Our First Elder-Drive Daily Devotional We claim no originality for these devotions. One of our elders searches various sources and finds a daily devotion. Consider this a gift from Clinton Avenue Reformed Church: clintonave.org. God Has a Purpose The apostle Paul said, “I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am” (Philippians 4:11 AMP). He was saying, “I have made a decision that I am going to live my life happy.” Now “content” doesn’t mean we don’t want to see change or we simply sit back in neutral and accept everything as it comes. That is the key. You don’t have to get upset because your circumstances are not exactly what you wan them to be. Keeping mind that God will not allow a difficulty to co me into your life, unless He has a purpose for it. If you’ll keep the right attitude, God has promised that He will turn that situation around in your favor, and you will come out better off than you were before. 1 Timothy 6:6New Living Translation (NLT) 6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.
