Our Pet of the week is Mini AKA little miracle! Mini was born with a Cleft Palate, which is a condition where the puppies hard palate doesnt completely fuse together leaving a gap in the roof of the mouth. When Minis human Mom brought him in he had lost a lot of weight because he couldnt latch onto his mother and nurse properly. He had lost so much weight we were all very concerned that he wouldnt make it. :( His family was so committed to his recovery that he survived and is now thriving! As an infant he needed to be syringe fed every 2 hours; now hes fed every 4 hours! His family documents everything including his weight to make sure hes doing well. His human Mom admits he feels like her real baby - shes even got Baby Brain. Now that Mini is doing better he is starting to develop a little personality! He will tug on his families pant legs and make a high pitched monkey sound to get attention. His family thinks he will become a lap - Shepherd! Mini is a real sweet heart and he has an amazing family! We wish them all the best!
