Our Round-up of the 2015 Golden Globes The 2015 Golden Globes kicked off award season in style last night and for once I am not just referring to the outfits. Much of the talk of the evening centres around hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey who it’s fair to say were as controversial as ever. To give you a taster, they opened the evenings festivities with the line, “Good evening, good evening, and welcome you bunch of despicable, spoiled, minimally talented brats.” – a sure sign that the actors and celebrities in attendance were not in for an easy ride! There was well-deserved recognition for British talent including Eddie Redmayne who took the award for Best Actor in a drama while Downtown Abbey’s Joanna Froggatt was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award for television. While our favourite outfits of the night had to be Diane Kruger and Reese Witherspoon who both looked effortlessly stylish in their figure-hugging silver shimmer gowns. Diane Kruger’s a simple shift style by British designer Emilia Wickstead, while Reese Witherspoon opted for a strapless gown by Calvin Klein – their hair and make-up reminiscent of old school Hollywood glamour. Special note also for Emma Stone who took a risk by shunning the traditional red carpet gown instead opting for an embellished Elie Saab jumpsuit – proving that red carpet risks can pay off. janedavidson.co.uk/round-2015-golden-globes/
