Our ancestors fought to keep and protect what we refer to as Wabanaki, this is our homeland, we still fight to this day to protect it, but the fight in the native eyes is different than those of non Native eyes, We need to protect this land for the next 7 generations, like the saying goes "we do not inherit this land from our ancestors , we are borrowing it from our children" , we cannot continue to let it be destroyed. It is in a critical state as it is. We have a duty to protect and preserve what Creation has let us use. It is up to us to make sure that we do not ruin our own habitat, We have to live in it.
