Our fearless leader, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, occasionally - TopicsExpress

Our fearless leader, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, occasionally drops such pearls of wisdom that most of the nation is rendered speechless. This was the case earlier today, when the PM - who is unabashedly convinced of the superiority of all things Icelandic - announced that foreign meat tended to be infected with a parasite that could change behaviour patterns, not only of individuals, BUT OF ENTIRE NATIONS. Therefore Iceland should be wery wery careful not to import any of those impure foreign meats, sticking instead to our own pristine, pure meats that never, ever make anyone sick. (Except maybe all those people who have contacted salmonella from our icky gross chicken factory farms, but hey.) Fortunately, though, Iceland, Norway and the United Kingdom - surprisingly enough according to the PM - are exempt from these dastardly viruses in our meats. Dont know if anyone reminded him of the mad cow disease that came up in the UK a few years back and, well, kind of freaked everybody out. It probably wouldnt matter, though. The PM is very selective when it comes to creating his own reality, tending to admit only the facts that support his bizarre world-view. The bottom line was that, in the PMs view, this creates golden opportunities for Iceland to produce meat that, presumably, will not make people go insane. So not only are we saved - WE CAN SAVE THE WORLD! dv.is/frettir/2014/8/14/syking-i-kjoti-sem-getur-leitt-til-breytingar-hegdunarmynstri/
