Our friend Karen Baker who has battled a rare cancer, liposarcoma, for almost five years. Sadly, her tumor grew back in her thigh a third time this year and she needed to have her leg amputed above the knee in August. She will be fitted for a prosthetic limb and is fortunate that she has medical insurance. But, insurance will only pay for the bare essentials and not for what she need and is best for her. I am helping to organize a fundraiser in her honor in an effort to offset some of the out of pocket costs that she and her family will be facing in the near future. The Standing Strong fundraiser will beon Friday, November 15th from 6-11pmat Whitford Country Club and the cost is $75 per person. We will serving heavy hors doeuvres and will have musical entertainment along with a silent/raffle auction and cash bar.
