Our german young gun Max Lux was out in Egypt training in the Lagoons of El Gouna. Check out his travel report: -------------------------------- For 3 years traveling to egypt has been kind of a tradition for me and my dad. I just love egypt for the endless flat water lagoons, steady wind conditions and of course the biggest difference between the red and north sea, here you have 30 degrees water temperature in the summer. Last years trip to El Gouna at the Kitepower station delivered insane conditions, so we decided to travel there again. Unfortunately the first day there was not much wind, so I decided to give the new Cablepark in El Gouna a go and spent my first day in El Gouna shredding some obstacles. The second day, the next wind period dropped in and the wind started slowly picking up. The forecasts promised to have nice winds over 7 days. Luckily the forecasts ended up being right. The first days I concentrated on taking my unhooked repertoire to the next level, which was accompanied by many crashes in the water :D After a few days I was feeling quite safe. The first week was over as strong winds dropped in the next day. Now it was time for some big airs and Kiteloops perfectly powered with my 9m Fury which is not usual in Egypt. Normally the winds are under 20 knots. The next days the wind was always perfect for my 9m Fury to perform unhooked tricks, so I had a lot of time to improve my riding. On the last day of my trip to El Gouna the wind period stopped. So I packed my Kitebag and headed to the airport in the afternoon. All in all it was a nice training trip with lots of winds to improve my riding to the next level. Now I am back in Germany and will spend my days here at my local cable park, before I head to the Beetle Kitesurf Worldcup on Friday.
