Our heartiest greetings and felicitations to Holy Prophet Mohammad (s.a.w.w.), Amir al-Muminin Imām ‘Alī ibn Abī Tālib (a.s.), Hazrat Fāṭimah(s.a.), Ahl-e-Bait (a.s.), Imam-e-Zamana (a.s.) & all lovers of Ahl-e-Bait (a.s.) on this auspicious occasion of Eid e Ghadeer The 18th of Zil-hajj is one of the most celebrated and happiest days for Shias all around the world. This is the day when our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W conveyed his Final message to mankind at Ghadeer-e-Khum! This day in 10 A.H our Holy Prophet S.A.W along with His companions and followers was returning from His last Pilgrimage (Hujjat-ul-Wida) when this verse was revealed: O Messenger of Allah deliver what has been revealed to you by your Lord ,for if you deliver it not , you will not have delivered His message at all. And Allah will protect you from the people.(Holy Quran 5-67) The Prophet of Allah S.A.W stopped there and then at Ghadeer-e-Khum. When this Divine message from Allah was revealed the Messenger of Allah commanded the Hajj caravan not to move any further. Those who had preceded Him and those who were left behind should join Him and witness the conveying of the Final message. In the middle of the desert the Moazzin Bilal recited the azaan loudly with the words : Haya’ala Khair-il-Amal!!. When everyone had gathered at Ghadeer-e-Khum our Holy Prophet S.A.W commanded his companions to clear the ground and then the saddles of their camels were piled on top of an other to build a “mimbar”(pulpit) . When the pulpit was ready our Holy Prophet S.A.W mounted it and looked down on his followers and companions and after praising the Lord He further said: God has informed me that the days of my life are coming to an end. I will be soon no longer be in your midst but I leave behind two weighty things: The Holy Quraan and my Ahlul-Bayt. Hold fast to them both so as not to go astray. After that the Holy Messenger S.A.W continued: O my dear followers tell me if you look up to me as your master or not? Immediately all answered : Oh yes ! Indeed you our Prophet S.A.W is our master! On hearing this the Holy Prophet S.A.W grasped the hand of His cousin Hazrat Ali A.S and while raising it He said : Then remember that for whomsoever I am master this Ali (A.S) is his master! O Allah , love Him who loves Ali and despise him who despises Ali! Thereafter one by one approached Hazrat Ali A.S and congratulated Him for being the master of all faithful men and faithful women and for being the successor of the Holy Prophet S.A.W . The leader of the Faithfuls was chosen by Allah and all pledged their allegiance to Him at Ghadeer-e-Khum. Now Hazrat Jibraeel descended from heaven again with this verse: This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My blessings upon you and chosen Islam for you as your religion.(Holy Quran 5-3) The memorable event of 18th of Zil-Hajj in the last year of the Holy Prophets (S.A.W) life not only ensured the continuation of the divinely appointed leadership but proved that Islam is the only living and perfect religion for mankind ! Finally we thank Allah S.W.T that we are blessed with not only the love for our Prophet S.A.W but also the love for His Ahlul-Bayt. We pray that we all stay firm in our faith as we will always hold fast to the Holy Book and the Holy progeny of the Holy Prophet S.A.W.
