Our parish family came in significant numbers for a beautiful first night of our Holy Week Retreat, centered on the theme, A Spirituality for Living Now. Fr. Paul Fagan, our gifted Passionist retreat master, used the parable of the Sower and the Seed. We were prayerfully guided back in time to the place in which Jesus told that story to the crowds, and Fr. Paul suggested we view our own hearts as the “soil” in the parable, being mindful not to let the soil harden to the loving presence and effect of Christ in us. A combination of Fr. Paul’s prayerful reflection, inspired music and song, and the participation of everyone in a moving ritual of being individually blessed by six of our fellow parishioners, produced a memorable spiritual pause as we enter this holiest of weeks! We look forward to our second evening with Fr. Paul. Be sure to join us, even if you were not able to do so last night. All are welcome!
