Our path toward understanding Ebola mirrors, in numerous ways, our coming to know HIV/AIDS a mere generation or so ago. Though we may pass laws designed to ensure peoples civil and human rights and conduct educational and diversity training sessions, and though times may have changed somewhat for the better, the proverb attributed to Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr remains true: The more things change, the more they remain the same. I hope in the case of Ebola, we can prove Karr wrong.
