Our previous estimate for how much it will cost to get dogs ready - TopicsExpress

Our previous estimate for how much it will cost to get dogs ready to go for in-house training at a state facility? Scratch that. They need a more complete round of treatment than initially assumed because of the close quarter living conditions. In addition to vaccines, they need comprehensive deworming and pre-emptive giardia treatment. Theres an open water source on our property and lots of wildlife to track protozoal parasite all over the place. So we have to treat for it even though its presence isnt confirmed, for the simple reason that giardia can be transmitted to humans and thats a risk we simply cannot take sending dogs into a program like this one. We took three of the six dogs yesterday and the bill was $230.32. Im not going to post an image of the invoice because I think thats bad form, but Ill certainly email you a copy if you want to see how these expenses break down. Like the last time we made our vet invoices available to the public, we will in NO WAY assume a request to see them is adversarial. We would LOVE to show you these invoices, if for no other reason than to help everyone understand just what goes into rescuing a dog, so each person can pass this information into the community in hopes of preventing more throwaways. And please. . .if you havent already given to support this cause, please consider doing so now. Our PayPal ID is [email protected] . Contact us for regular mailing information. THANK YOU!
