Our publishing group at ACS thought it would be neat if we reached 100 book awards this year -- the 100th anniversary year of the founding of the American Cancer Society. Very unexpectedly, it happened today! We reached the 100th award, with the announcements of the 2013 USA Best Book Awards. Very exciting! LOS ANGELES – USABookNews, the premier online magazine featuring mainstream and independent publishing houses, announced the winners and finalists of THE 2013 USA BEST BOOKS AWARDS on November 14, 2013. Awards were presented for titles published in 2012 and 2013. Stump-Sutliff WINNER: Cookbooks—International Maya’s Secrets: Delightful Latin Dishes for a Healthier You, by Maya Leon-Meís, Malena Perdomo, and Martín Limas-Villers FINALIST: Health—Cancer Picture Your Life After Cancer, by the New York Times and the American Cancer Society FINALIST: Health—Cancer Rad Art: A Journey Through Radiation Treatment, by Sally Loughridge FINALIST: Health—Cancer Cancer in Our Family: Helping Children Cope with a Parent’s Illness, Second Edition, by Sue P. Heiney and Joan F. Hermann Keen says of the awards, now in their eleventh year, “The 2013 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the United States.
