Our so-called Export Education industry was supposed to bring in - TopicsExpress

Our so-called Export Education industry was supposed to bring in foreign dollars, but now foreign students can pay some costs with New Zealand dollars earned here. Last year the National government relaxed restrictions on working here. This is being used as a “carrot” to attract foreign students to New Zealand. So too is the chance of becoming a NZ citizen. There should be no such promise. This is immigration through the back door and Kiwis now face more unfair competition for jobs, which are not in abundance. We’re not against foreign students, but they shouldn’t be working when Kiwis can’t get jobs.
