Our trip has hit a bump in the road. Last night about eleven I became very ill...either food poisoning from some questionable yogurt or simply a nasty bug. Havent been this sick in a decade. Were closing in on 24 hours now, and only now do I think I may survive. We brought just in case meds with us, but Charlie ended up going into the village to see the chemist and get some help. My dear husband has been his usual patient, kind self in the midst of canceling reservations and playing nurse. This a.m. he asked if we could stay another night and was told no because there is a festival and the place is booked solid. A bit of panic ensued. I literally could not stand up to walk to the car. At the last minute there were cancellations and we were able to stay. I have never been more grateful. The hotel offered ginger beer which is supposed to be like ginger ale...but is not. :( Dont know what the morning will bring. We missed our car ferry to the Orkneys. Taking things one step at a time. All good thoughts and prayers appreciated... P.S. Charles took and posted the pretty moon picture...
