Over 260 guests attended our 91st Annual Gala Dinner held in the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Ballincar, Co Sligo. Sponsored by Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group the theme of #PositiveSligo was evident from the outset with all the guests enjoying a wonderful night’s entertainment. President Catriona Walsh paid tribute to all the World class events in Sligo over the past year and made a special presentation to Bartley Gavin from the Fred Finn Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and to Jim Lawlor, Chair of Sligo Tidy Towns. The Business Person of the Year award, sponsored by Vhi Healthcare, was presented to Tommy Higgins by Ann Gallagher from Vhi. In the course of his acceptance speech Tommy made reference to the many wonderful attributes of Sligo and to his mantra to “Never Give Up”. The Guest speaker was John Concannon, Director of Marketing at Failte Ireland. John gave an inspirational speech on the potential for tourism to lead the economic development of Sligo and he also alluded to the upcoming Yeats 2015 celebrations and the 2016 commemorative project. After an excellent meal, guests were entertained by Anything Goes into the late hours after what was a wonderful #PositiveSligo experience
