Over the last several days I’ve been reading Jorge Luis Borges (bor-hess) and I’m seeing that his tales feel more like philosophical musings than traditional storytelling. There seems to be little story at all in his works—well, those I’ve read so far. But they are interesting and, as someone suggested works of longevity should have, they’re full of depth and complexity. There’s almost a Lovecraftian quality to them, but unlike the gentleman from Providence, who was given to extraordinary long-windedness, Borges excels at brevity. Over all I like the work of señor Borges.
