Over the past few years I have made many changes in my life. I moved from Pakistan to US when I was 17. A year later 9/11 happened. I saw the pre & post 9/11 america. I questioned my faith. Started reading extensively the translation of all religious texts not just Quran. Then there was a period when I left it all and slowly the faith seeped back into me but with a greater understanding of why religion or faith is there in the first place. I try to live a life based on love and compassion for all. Speaking up is my moral and ethical responsibility even if it means I am pointing a finger towards myself or things that are wrong within my own community. I have spoken in the past about #blasphemy laws and I will continue to do it. After CNN today Anonymous shared my video. I dont know what it means but I hope it is to share that their attack is on extremism and that there are millions of moderate muslims who are standing against these senseless crimes. I hope this global dialogue continues, It is not about me but it is about moderate muslims who need to speak out. Speak up OVER and OVER and OVER again.
