Oxfam says that 90% of all donations go directly to help people. eg $85 is enough to provide five families with hygiene kits, helping to protect them from disease $120 is enough to provide a toilet for 40 people in an area devastated by a natural disaster $274provides clean, safe drinking water for six families, by building or repairing water sources --- which means that even a $17 donation will help one family with a hygiene kit.
