PALACE SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS THE 2014 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES WITH THE YEAR’S BIGGEST CONCERTS AND SHOWS SHARE YOUR PS&E CONCERT EXPERIENCES ON TWITTER AND FACEBOOK #ALLSUMMERLONG AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) is bringing the year’s biggest events to The Palace of Auburn Hills, DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival #AllSummerLong. The Palace will host Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry, the arena extravaganza Walking With Dinosaurs and Oprah Winfrey’s inspirational weekend. Luke Bryan, the Michigan Beerfest, Lionel Richie, Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band, Kiss and Def Leppard and Wiz Khalifa among others will all play at DTE Energy Music Theatre. And, Ed Sheeran will hit the stage for 98.7 Amp Live 2014 at Meadow Brook where we’ll also celebrate the venue’s 50th anniversary with superstar violinist Joshua Bell and Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Oprah Winfrey fans have until 3 p.m. tomorrow – May 9 – for a chance to win the “Oprah’s The Life You Want Weekend” Sweepstakes. Winners will receive two tickets to see Winfrey’s tour stop at The Palace of Auburn Hills Sept. 12-13 with her special guests, self-help icon Iyanla Vanzant, author Elizabeth Gilbert, Pastor Rob Bell and author Mark Nepo. The summer will also feature a July 24th concert with Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell performing with the DSO at Meadow Brook, commemorating the storied venue’s 50th anniversary on Oakland University’s beautiful campus since July, 1964. “We look forward to another incredible season that delivers concert fans a lineup of premier entertainers and big shows across all three of our venues - The Palace of Auburn Hills, DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival,” said Dennis Mannion, President and CEO of Palace Sports & Entertainment. “First-class hospitality and food and beverage, upgraded acoustical engineering at DTE and unparalleled customer service will deliver thrilling entertainment and create lasting memories all summer long.” Enhancing DTE’s reputation as one of the world’s top summer concert venues, offseason sound improvements included the installation and unveiling of new acoustic panels around the stage – a “Golden Room” of sound – produced by Golden Acoustics. The futuristic-looking walls of acoustic panels that surround the stage are the largest of their kind, designed to crystallize the sound of your favorite bands and give the audience an immersive sonic experience. DTE fans will also have an array of choices to dine and enjoy themselves: • The Pine Tap is open to all DTE patrons, offering unique food and beverage offerings in a spacious and entertaining beer garden deck, featuring a wide array of craft beers, Union Woodshop menu items, plus, select pre- and post-show entertainment; located closest to the West Entrance. • The Arbor is also open to all DTE patrons, offering its own unique food and beverage offerings in an entertaining patio setting. Open 30 minutes before DTE opens, The Arbor features a full bar with happy hour pricing; located closest to the VIP and East Entrances. • The Bud Light Hilltop Deck is a fun and casual space at the top of the DTE Energy Music Theatre lawn overlooking the pavilion that includes beverage options open to all lawn patrons. • The Ivy Lounge is an exclusive open-air club for DTE Royal members only that features a newly refreshed menu. Palace Sports & Entertainment has also teamed with IOMEDIA to produce Virtual Venue™ -- giving concertgoers a three-dimensional look at The Palace of Auburn Hills and DTE Energy Music Theatre.
