This is the untold real story of the first Indian village in 1942 to get independence from the Britishers. A village named Kanakpur is unconquered by the Britishers at that time. The villagers of Kanakpur are very simple people who love enjoying life and their main profession is colouring clothes. The villagers have not heard anything about the British Rule, freedom struggle and the patriotism associated with THE FLAG. The Britishers finally arrive Kanakpur and the villagers are fascinated with the Britishers looks, their Car & their Flag and feel that the Britishers will make their lives more prosperous by employing the village youths. The Britishers hoist their Flag in the village, put up cloth tents, recruit village youths, provide them uniforms and depute the village youth to fight for them in the World War II. The villagers are ignorant about where the village youths are deputed and feel happy at this development After few days, the dead bodies of village youths arrive covered in the British Flag. The villagers, who were initially fascinated by the hoisted British Flag, start hating the British Flag and the Britishers. In retaliation, Deva (Ashmit Patel) - who is a very aggressive and short tempered person, and some of the villagers decide to remove the British Flag from their village. One of the village person who tries to remove the British Flag from the village is caught by the Britishers. His punishment by the Britishers - at the count of 1 to 5, the villager has to run fast and kiss the hoisted British Flag and he will be pardoned. But, if he fails, he would be shot. The villager starts running towards the British Flag and the Britisher cheats by saying 3 to 5 very quickly and shoots the villager dead in front of the entire village. Seeing this, Deva and some of the villagers plan to kill the main British Officer - Gary responsible for all the wrongdoing in the village. But Devas attempt to kill Gary fail and Gary orders Maan Singh (Rahul Dev) - the Indian Recruit in the British Army to nab Deva. Deva is advised by one of the good British Officer to go into hiding. Gary tries to know the whereabouts of Deva by disrobing Devas fiancee in front of the entire village, which prompts Deva to come out of his hideout to save her modesty. Devas fiancee commits suicide by jumping in the well and Deva is caught by the Britishers. Now, Gary starts his evil game again & instructs Maan Singh to order Deva to run and kiss the British Flag at the count of 1 to 5 in front of the entire village. But Maan Singh has soft corner for his Indian Counterpart and advises Deva that while running, he should snatch his rifle and shoot Gary and the Britishers. Deva does that and shoots 1 or 2 Britishers but he fails to shoot Gary and is shot dead by the Britishers. Arjun (Milind Soman) is the only person who shuffles across from his village to another village to buy and sell for the entire Kanakpur village. He is aware about the Britishers, Quit India Movement, Patriotism, Freedom Struggle and The Indian Flag. He tries to instil the knowledge regarding Freedom Struggle & Patriotism but some of the senior villagers try to ignore him and also advise other villagers to ignore Arjuns talks. The villagers are not allowed to work and colour clothes by the Britishers and are helpless. Now, Arjun gets the opportunity to mobilise the villagers and instill the patriotic spirit in them. Girghit (Vijay Raaz), who was once the personal entertainer for Gary removes the British Flag and hoist the Indian Flag and the villagers stage a war against the Britishers with hand made arms and ammunitions. The Indians in the British Army revolt and refuse to shoot the villagers. The Britishers are scared and some of them flee and some of them ask for forgiveness. Arjun hands over the British Flag (properly folded) and with respect to one the Britishers and tells him This is your Flag. Hoist it in your country. It will get lot of respect there. Finally Gary who tries to run away from the villagers is caught by the village buffoon Girghit (Vijay Raaz). Gary is ordered to run and kiss the Indian Flag at the count of 1 to 5 in Hindi and Arjun instructs Girghit to count 1 to 5 but the villagers oppose the same since Girghit stammers while speaking. But Arjun is adamant and Maan Singh handovers the rifle to Girghit to shoot Gary if he doesnt reach the Indian Flag before he says 5. Gary starts running as soon as Girghit says 1. Girghit counts upto 3 and then he is unable to count 4 and 5 and Gary is inching towards the Indian Flag. The entire villagers eyes are pointed towards Girghit and finally Girghit in a fit of rage says 4 & 5 very quickly and shoots Gary. Finally, the village is freed from the Britishers and the whole village rejoices looking at the Hoisted Indian Tricolor Flag. Arjun is about to go to another village and one of the senior villager asks him that where is he going. Arjun says - To get freedom for such more villages.
