PAREF Southcrest’s guidelines on cancellation of classes due to typhoon and other calamities. There will be automatic cancellation of work and classes when one or both of the following occur: 1. When typhoon signal #2 is raised by PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration). 2. When the provincial government or city mayor suspend classes even just for public schools. We advise you to monitor media advisories coming from government agencies such as PAGASA and the Local Government Units. Please note that DepEd still maintains that parents have the ultimate responsibility of determining whether their children should go to school even if no order for suspension of classes has been issued if they feel that travelling to or from school will place their children at risk. Be assured that on the part of the school, due consideration will be given to students who are absent on these days. Students who are not able to report for school need to present an excuse letter when she goes back to school. In case of mid-day cancellation of classes, the dismissal schedule will be as follows: Announcement is made before 9:30 A.M. - dismissal at 10:00 A.M. Announcement is made after 9:30 A.M. - dismissal at 11:55 A.M. Announcement is made after 12:30 PM - dismissal at 1:30 P.M. Classes shall resume the following day unless otherwise announced by the Department of Education or School Authorities. In the event of suspension of classes during exam days, the sequence of tests as originally specified will be followed when classes resume, i.e. if QE Test Day 1 suspended, tests scheduled for Day 1 will be administered when classes resume. Announcements will be made through the following channels: - Southcrest Facebook Account - School trunk lines: 344 5042 to 44 local 116 - Text messages (for emergency cases only)
