PARTING SHOT... Here we go again. One week after Dr. Craig Spencer, just back from treating Ebola patients in West Africa, discovered he had a fever and checked himself into a hospital… Two days after nurse Kaci Hickox, also just back from West Africa and totally healthy, was locked up in a plastic tent by Governor Chris Christie… The CDC yesterday said New York and New Jersey had gone too far in calling for a mandatory 21-day hospital quarantine for everybody arriving from West Africa – and issued new guidelines for travelers from Ebola-infected countries. They should stay home, said the CDC, away from crowds, and allow state or local health officials to check on them daily. Jogging in a park is okay; riding on a crowded bus isn’t. Now, these guidelines make sense. But why is CDC issuing them after the fact? I used to trust CDC, but now I’m convinced they’re just making this stuff up as they go along.
