PATCHES, PATCHES, YOU NEED “STINKING PATCHES If you are the type of person who would like to own items from scouting history, primarily Dan Beard Council history, you will have that opportunity this coming weekend at the 9th Annual Southwest Ohio Scout Tradeoree and Memorabilia Show. The show will take place Friday, November 8th, from 3pm to 9pm and Saturday, November 9th from 9am to 3pm. The Lodge has received a donation of items that span six decades of scouting history. We have numerous items from National Jamborees, District Activity patches from our current districts and districts that are no longer in existence, miscellaneous Council patches, out of council patches, camp patches from all over the country, rank patches from the 50’s and 60’s, bolos, t-shirts, Peterloon patches from different years and Family Fest patches, just to name a few. If you want a piece of Scouting history, this is the place to be. For Lodge members attending LLD, these items will be for sale starting at 3pm on Friday afternoon, giving you the opportunity to see it before LLD. Right now, you are probably wondering where all of this activity will take place. This tradeoree will take place at the Izaak Walton League of America, 3504 Bevis Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio which is Colerain Township near Northgate Mall. It has easy access from I-275 between I-74 and I-75. Food will be available on site for anyone who gets the munchies. There will be other vendors at this show with items from all over the scouting memorabilia collecting community. Tell all of your friends and bring them along. If you have any questions, please call J. D. Bartlett at 513-425-7222.
