PAWTUCKET PARKS & RECREATION FREE SUMMER PERFORMANCES The Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Division is hosting a number of free performances throughout the summer beginning Tuesday, July 8 and ending Sunday, August 28, weather permitting. All performances begin at 6 p.m. and are free and open to the public. There are seven children’s performances taking place at Slater Memorial Park every Tuesday evening starting on July 8. These performances include Keith Munslow, T-Bone, Scott Jameson, Lon Cerel, Rock-a-Baby, Ben Rudnick & friends along with Grammy award winning performer Bill Harley. They will be performing at the stage between the Slater Park Office and the historic Daggett House. The carousel will remain open until 8 p.m. throughout the summer during these performances only. Thursday evenings bring music to the stage located in front of Daggett Farm in Slater Memorial Park. This year, acts include Ronnie & the Satellites, Five Flavor Discount, The Jesse Liam Band, John Connors and the Irish Express, Rhode Island Rednecks, the Down City Band and Trovadores; integrated by Carlos de Leon, Felipe Rosario, and Hugo Gonzalez. The Free Summer Music Series in the Park begins July 10. Concessions are also available on site. A variety of free musical performances will be presented at The Veteran’s Amphitheatre on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Exchange Street every Sunday night starting July 13. This riverfront venue is directly adjacent to Pawtucket City Hall. Performers will include the Arthur Medeiros Swing Band for two nights, Nightlife Orchestra, Terri Giviens, Joe’s Backyard Band, along with a performance on August 17 to be confirmed later.
