PAY ATTENTION! My response to an email sent to me by the hotel motel Association concerning their backing of All Aboard Florida! To whom this may concern, I completely disagree with your opinion on the trains coming through Martin County. I really cant believe the Martin County Hotel Motel Associating is supporting this! I have no problem with them running west of the cities but here are definitely a lot of valid concerns with the intended route. Naturally All Aboard is trying to convince you otherwise. You should be more informed. Do you really want to see trains traveling 110 miles an hour on the existing tracks? There are real safety concerns. This train will not be stopping in Martin, St. Lucie or Indian River County yet we will paying to maintain crossings. It will impact the boating industry and they are becoming very verbal about. It will be much harder getting to the downtown shopping area with trains coming so frequently. Have you even thought about the current traffic back ups during season and then having added passenger trains plus additional freight trains coming through. Who will pay for a quite zone for my motel and others on Indian River Drive in Jensen Beach. Have you thought about how this might affect the local economy? When people check into a motel they are expecting some level of peace and the same is true of your restaurants in these quaint little towns. Patrons pay to sit down and enjoy some quite conversation as they dine. Are they going to install these quiet zones all through downtown Jensen and behind all these motels that would loose business? NOT ALL ABOARD! HEY BUT EVERYONE IS READING THIS!!! Maybe I should not spell check next time too. LOL Just a resent (corrected) version of Fridays email for those of YOU who didnt ready my last email. I am very excited to have All Aboard Florida joining us and for those businesses downtown near any railroad tracks, I think it is important that you come and hear it straight from them. IF YOU ARE COMING , CAN YOU PLEASE HIT REPLY AND SAY YOUR PROPERTY NAME AND HOW MANY ARE ATTENDING. Thank you Jacque Tourism Partners: On the Agenda: 1.) I have invited ALL Aboard Florida to come and talk to us. It is important and a very hot topic to our community. There are alot of trashing of this project out there and people do not have the facts. This project is going through our communities and you need to be aware of how they can help make it better for us. Such as quiet zones for our downtown areas that affect many of our hotels and local businesses. 2.) Upcoming sporting events. Dont you want to know where there is a lot of demand in our area and capitalize on those guests that are either already coming or will be coming. 3.) Does your property have space or rooms available on November weekends? If so, you may want to come and participate in our Partnership hotel program. This is where our Unique small properties have partnered with the larger branded hotels to get their overflow of rooms. 4.) Attraction partnerships: We have partnered with many attractions to help us promote things to do in the Stuart area especially during these high demand dates. Come and be a part of that! We invite all properties, attractions and restaurants to join us.
