PDP FOR 2015 The people’s democratic party is a political party in Nigeria. Its policies generally lie towards the right wing of the political spectrum and is the dominant party in Nigeria. I see people’s democratic party as an amazing party with a free-market policies which support economic liberalism and limit government regulation , an advocator of state autonomy and religious freedom for the Nigerian province. I was surprise by the number of people who opposed to the consolidation of Chief Tony Anenih as the BOT Chairman of the party, but he handled the controversy remarkably well. PDP has an enviable ability to stay cool and help opposing parties reach agreement. It will be a pleasure for any politician to belong in this remarkable party. I am impressed that PDP ran a completely positive campaign that focus on their own strength and vision and don’t resort to tearing down their opponent. That one thing make me confident that the stated desired to move forward with a unified party united in their focus on winning more control of our state is not just sincere but entirely possible. Having spent a great of time speaking with people around the state as a young expert in politics, I want to take the advantage of my career to share some thoughts with this political party(PDP) as someone who has put considerable time and effort organizing at the local level, knocking doors, making phone calls and getting others to do the same. One of the things I hear frequently from people who worked for the campaign is that they are new to politics, and are very reluctant to get involved in the democratic party itself. They see the formal party structure as not inclusive of grassroots organizers, full of intra-party politics, and basically an organization full of people who are set in their ways, comfortable in their position of power within the party and not open to the new ideas and new participant. This is unfortunate because many of this new organizers are still full of energy to effect change in our state and beyond at the end of the day. We should build something that is uniquely different and remains here year after year. And when we create that unique project or plan we would have a distinct advantage over our political opponent, and advantage that can overcome and overwhelm their money and propaganda machines and their corruption of our political process through gerrymandering and dirty tricks. At this juncture it becomes pertinent to point the important of technology in winning elections . This may involve calling PDP targeted voters and being strategic in our mailing, phone banking, facebook, tweeter and many others. You can also grab a whole number of votes by just holding seminars, symposia using powerful idealized influence , inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation. This allows you to accomplish an incredible level of outreach on a small budget and with a great return. Am giving you this techniques because if there is one thing that PDP needs more than anything else is the ability to win. We have to show the people that PDP in its various manifestations – state party, local party, democratic clubs, can actually help them achieve their goals with resources, training and networking opportunities with other like-minded democrats. We have a real chance to expand the party and make it stronger more successful. This won’t be easy , it requires resources and effective communication over a whole range of media. You need to give local organizers tools to make their effort easier and you need to provide them with the information that they need to be effective communicator of your messages. Having places where people can access the PDP network is also going to be crucial. PDP needs to replicate a model of continuous activism and organizing every single day with an emphasis on building networks, relationship and coalition to engage in the person-to-person contact.This can make the difference in winning on issues and winning elections. When you accomplish this we will have done more to advance the priorities and national agenda of president Goodluck Ebele Jonnathan and the people’s democratic party. And then we will have the luxury of engaging once again in the national issues that affects our country. Its my hope that you (PDP) will embrace this concept, call it what you want but the time is ripe right now to capitalize on the energy and the existing teams and networks that worked together in the last election. But that has to begin immediately and make it a top priority. One final thing, it is critical important that PDP ensures that all members whether they are new to the party or a veteran and whether the belong to some labor group or not, have a voice and a role to play in the direction of the party. As the new PDP BoT Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, I urge you to consider how we can implement something like this, something that will show other parties that we are serious about engaging all of them in the effort to win elections. I wish PDP all the best. Its not an overstatement to say that we are counting on you.
