PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK !!!!!!!!!!! Adopted, 14 hours of freedom and brought right back to a cage Manhattan ACC. And to make it worse than anyone can imagine, 4 year old HOUNDSTOOTH is sitting on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. And why is this happening—well it seems that Houndstooth (who is also suffering from the shelter cold and who had until his 14 hours, been cooped up in a cage wondering if anybody was ever coming for him) was protective of his food and of his new found “territory”. Now keep in mind that Houndstooth was an AVERAGE RATED dog when he went off to his new home—take a look at the full behavioral eval—he scored 1’s and 2’s on all items! Suddenly, he’s now New Hope only because in all of 14 hours, his adopters decided she was unsuitable. So tonight, Houndstooth is asking again for someone out there to take him out of that cage, to give him a chance to decompress, and to be the great little Rat Terrier he really is. Sure he’s busy—he’s a Rat Terrier, isn’t he! If you think that a little resource guarding from a scared, confused little dog is something you could work with, if you think you could give Houndstooth some time to decompress, if you think that this great little boy will make you laugh as he tries to make your bed his bed—then start applying to New Hope rescues to foster or adopt Houndstooth.
