PF Wins Mangango Following Alleged Massive Vote-Buying The ruling Patriotic Front has scooped the Mangango parliamentary with polls characterized by high levels of apathy, vote-buying, acts of intimidation and violence. Patriotic Front candidate Rogers Lingweshi was leading the poll with only one polling station being awaited posting 2938 votes while UPND candidate Godwin Putu got 2308 votes with the ADD polling 603 votes while UNIP had 372 votes. The MMD managed 135 votes while the Fourth Revolution party had 28 votes with 73 votes rejected. Mangango has 17137 registered voters spread across 33 polling stations. Only Muswala polling station results were being awaited where the total number of votes is 568 votes. The Mangango seat fell vacant following the nullification of MMD’s Taundi Chiseke’s seat by the Supreme Court. Chiseke had been serving in the PF government as deputy minister against his party’s wishes. The next round of by-elections is set for September 11 where voters in Vubwi, Kasenengwa, Mkushi South, Solwezi Central and Zambezi West will choose the Members of Parliament. zambiareports/2014/08/20/pf-wins-mangango-following-alleged-massive-vote-buying/
