#PINK--- Arrival of Pink Auto Rickshaws made me happy and hopeful. Ladies and girls would have an opportunity to travel in safety and dignity. Nothing can make a city more endearing. Initially I was not sure about the viability of these rickshaws. I now understand these can accept males also. This flexibility is desirable to ensure economic viability; but the rickshaws should be made to be predominantly tilted towards the girls and ladies. These could be made to be deployed in strength near Colleges; working womens hostels, offices and major commercial establishments so that a lady or a girl gets easy access to such rickshaws. I hope to see ladies driving auto rickshaws as well. That would add more confidence to the praise worthy initiative. I admire the involvement of the City Police. Apart from guiding the initiative, they tastefully illuminated the imposing building with Pink. That was the way to get the police and the city denizens emotionally closer. I wish Police would soon be a greatly endearing word for the common man. The other day a smart police officer delivered to me at my home, a nice senior citizen identity card. That boosted up my sense of personal safety. The podium was tastefully decorated; rather a bit lavishly. I would have liked even this over indulgence if the gerberas were grown around Bhubaneswar.
