PLAYWRITING WORKSHOP - RUN BY DANUSIA IWASZKO 7pm - 9.30pm - Monday 15th September 2014 Chauffeurs Cottage, St Peters Road, Peterborough, PE1 1YX FREE - Places are first come first served and must be reserved before the event by e-mailing [email protected] Danusia will cover her approach to playwrighting. The workshop will be suitable for all levels of playwrights from beginners through to more experienced playwrights. She will cover creating character, the importance of setting and useful hints for dialogue writing. She will also look at how the psychology of the characters (their wants and actions) drives the narrative of a play. Always fun and informative, her workshops will help you build your skills as a playwright. The session will also introduce the Peterborough Playwrights involvement in the Billboard project, run by Metal Culture. During the rest of the year, the group with be creating short plays in response to the Billboard designs that will go up in September around the city. The group are looking for plays to compliment and further the themes that have already been explored by the designers. Danusias plays are currently being staged at York Theatre Royal, Plymouth Drum and Polka Theatre London. She has written for Eastern Angles, the Theatre Royal Bury, Menagerie Theatre Cambridge and the Theatre Royal York. She has her own Theatre Company The Hal Company and has been attached writer to The National Theatre Studio. Her plays have been staged successfully in London, Edinburgh, Sydney and across the UK and Ireland.
