PLEASANT GROVE JUNIOR HIGH ROAD CLOSURE: Pleasant Grove City is - TopicsExpress

PLEASANT GROVE JUNIOR HIGH ROAD CLOSURE: Pleasant Grove City is replacing a water main line on 300 East (the road directly east of Pleasant Grove Jr. High). The line will be replaced from 600 North to 1000 North. Construction will be begin on Tuesday, September 16th and the east entrance to the school will be closed. Construction will last around 1 month. During this month, the city will have certain portions of the road shut down to traffic. On Tuesday, Sep 16th and Wednesday, Sept 17th, the east entrance to the school will be closed. Please access the south parking lot from 100 East during those two days. Also, for those students who live in the neighborhoods east of the school, we encourage you as parents to ask your students to stay out of these construction areas as they walk to and from school and only use the designated crossing zones at 300 East. As a city council member, I apologize for the timing of this project. In the future, we will do better as a city in planning road projects that involve street closures affecting students during the school year. I am specifically referring to the current and most recent construction projects around PGHS and PGJR. We should have been more aware of the timing of when school began and tried to complete these projects earlier in the summer. As well, I am working on getting a page on the city website that gives details of the local road project including where, when, why and estimated time of completion. Please let me know if you have any questions!
