PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR MY NEPHEW OVERSEAS. Here is the latest update from them: Stanley is currently out of the hospital and not bleeding significantly. He has been suffering with new symptoms of a headache and anxiety for the past several days. Here is Stanleys current health status blow by blow: He got sick with a fever October 27th. After 7 days of intermittent fever he started to develop a rash and swelling (signs of bleeding). Ron took Stanley to the 1st hospital which told us they could not help us (likely b/c they dont do blood transfusions) and referred us on to the local Medical College Hospital. Stanley was admitted into their system and basically told they would check the labs again in the AM but not to expect anything else. The conditions in this hospital are deplorable, so he and Ron decided they could just as well wait at home. The next morning Stanleys symptoms had worsened and we had considered evacuating to the capital city, however, we tried one more teaching hospital. We stayed there for a day of observation, but then it became clear that the treatment plan the doctors were espousing was not in line with the treatment guidelines the local government gives which we had provided to them as a reference. Some of the doctors were pushing for early use of platelet therapy and this made Stanley nervous. We decided that he was not getting any worse and still in a very dirty and chaotic environment so we headed home again. That night the swelling and rash really dropped off, but Stanley had a serious headache that caused him to feel very fearful and delirious. The headaches and anxiety come and go at this point. (Possible Viral Meningitis) Massage is helpful. Stanley still has low level intermittent fevers. He improves slightly each day. Thanks for lifting us up!! We are only healed by the Fathers grace.
